Our Story
Chris and Nita Johnson, with their sons Aric and Joshua, moved to Childress in 1983 to manage the local funeral home.
After ten years, they purchased the business, and in 1999 a new Johnson Funeral Home was built. The original facility is presently used as the Johnson Funeral Chapel.
In 2002, Johnson Funeral Home received permit #1040 to sell prearranged funeral plans. The funeral plans are locally owned. The highest quality merchandise is offered, and each plan is honored to the family's complete satisfaction.
In 2008, their son Joshua, and his wife, Karin, moved to Childress and began working at the funeral home. Then, in January of 2012, they purchased the funeral home. Joshua and Karin promise the same quality and commitment to their families that Johnson Funeral Home has always been known for.
Other services include Childress Grave Service that provides help with cemetery needs in Childress Cemetery as well as cemeteries of the surrounding areas.
