Funeral services for Myrl Burchett, 92, will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 10 a.m. at the Joe E. Jones Chapel at Childress Cemetery with Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
She passed away March 2, 2023 in Childress.
Zola Myrl Nichols was born January 25, 1931 in Childress to Louis Solomon Nichols and Zola Huckabey Nichols.
She married Ronald Burchett November 4, 1948 in Childress and was a homemaker. She enjoyed yardwork and designer sweatshirts. She loved to cook and loved her family. She loved animals, especially the dogs and cats of her neighborhood that she made sure were fed. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Childress for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; her daughter, Rhonda Taber; and siblings, Georgia Bowman, Lavern Watkins, R.C. Nichols, Irma Custer, Lewis Willard Nichols and Pete Nichols.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Dorothy Nichols, niece, Debbie Wiles, niece, Linda Huddleston, nephew, Billy Dee Bowman, niece, Peggy Hill and husband, Rodney, niece Patty Martin and husband, Paul, niece, Lorry Collom and husband, Ricky, nephew Butch Nichols and wife, Sharon, niece, Zoe Ann Foard, nephew, Nick Custer and wife, Monica, nephew, Doug Custer and wife, Teresa, niece, Cindy Johnston and husband, Danny, niece Sharlyn Keys, nephew, Dub Nichols and wife, Debby, special friends John and Mary Cappleman, Emma Rocha and Betty Payton.
