Obituary for Winna Wilson

Winna Belle Castleberry Wilson, age 81, went to be with Jesus Saturday, August 17, 2013 in Lubbock.. Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in First Baptist Church of Childress with Rev. John Givens and Rev. Randy Wilson officiating . Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday evening 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Winna was born October 31, 1931 in Childress to J.V. and Georgia Castleberry. She married William Leon Wilson June 17, 1950. Winna's joys in life were serving God, her family, music, and teaching others. She led numerous people to the Lord, being an example to her children and grandchildren. She had the Winna Wilson School of Music and taught music and piano beginning at the age of twelve until June of this year. Winna was known for teaching the Word and playing piano in every town they lived. Many times she verbalized her mission field from the piano bench. Winna will be missed by all who loved and knew her, but her music will live forever. She had many doctors and nurses who cared for and loved her. They mourn her death and celebrate her eternal life in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.V. and Georgia Castleberry; husband, Leon Wilson; brother, LaNoel "Huck" Castleberry; and nephews, Charles and Chris Castleberry. Memorials may be made to : Carey Baptist Church 7394 Loop 328 Childress, TX 79201 Survivors: Son - Van Wilson and wife, Carolyn, Son - Dan Wilson and wife, Lisa, Daughter - Ann Morris, Daughter - Jan Woods and husband, Mark all of Lubbock, and Son - Randy Wilson and wife, Becky, Childress; Son, Dr. Scott Myers and wife, Susan of Wichita Falls; Sister-in-law Wana Castleberry of Childress, brother-in-law, Joe Jr. Wilson, Vernon, Sister -in-law, Melba Helm and husband, Albert of Childress. Thirteen grandchildren Nineteen great Grandchildren.
