Obituary for Willie Gulledge

Maxine Gulledge, age 84, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 in Pearsall, TX. Services will be at 10:30 AM Monday, October 22, 2012 in First Baptist Chapel with Rev. Jimmy R. Cameron officiating with Kerry Wood assisting. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Maxine Gulledge was born on June 9, 1928 in Abernathy, Texas to Thomas and Mittie Brewer. She married Charles Gulledge on December 30, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico. They had two children, Freddy Ray and Amanda (Mandy) Annette Gulledge. Maxine was a member of various organizations over the years from extension clubs to Bobcat Mothers. She was also the chief cook and bottle washer for a high school lunch crowd in her home. In more recent years, she was a volunteer with the CRMC hospice, and served as historian. Maxine also participated in a weekly Bunko club. She so enjoyed entertaining her friends at those card games. She was the greatest mom and MurMur. She will always be loved and missed dearly, but her family celebrates, and rejoices in the fact that she is at home with our awesome God in Heaven. Maxine is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Loen Brewer; mother, Mittie Thelma Craig Brewer; husband, Charles Richard Gulledge; son, Fred R. Gulledge; and two brothers, Donald and Thomas Brewer.
