Obituary for Willie Ann Gressett

A memorial service for Willie Ann King Gressett, 86, will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Carey 1st Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Wilson and Pastor Travis Leamon officiating.

Ann passed away September 2, 2023 in Chlidress. She was born November 4, 1936 in Childress, Texas to Aretas and Willie Mae King.

Ann married the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Gressett, on July 28, 1961 and they were very blessed to be married for 53 years.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family with all of her heart. She loved the Lord and shared her knowledge of the Bible with her family and the many children she taught in Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Childress and Carey 1st Baptist Church. All of the children she taught always held a special place in her heart. Ann was a joyful, kind, strong and loving person who was a blessing to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aretas and Willie Mae King; her husband, Jerry Wayne Gressett; a son, Jarp Gressett; a brother, A.V. King ; sisters-in-law Kathi King, Gaynelle De Forrest and Carolyn King; brothers-in-law Bob Johnston, James Standridge and Randy Gressett; a nephew, Clay King and a niece, Nan King.

She is survived by her daughter, Monique Wilson and husband, Clay; grandson, Sawyer Wilson and grandson, Sayer Wilson and wife Carol; granddaughter, Saylor Wilson King and husband Connor, granddaughter, Shayla Wilson, grandson, Fernando Gressett, and great-grandson, Delbert Cowen Wilson. She is also survived by her brothers, Perry King and Robert King; Sisters-in-law, Lu King and Norma Johnston and many other loving family members.
