Obituary for Trilton Joe Jouett

Funeral services for Trilton Joe Jouett, 69, will be held Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 2 pm at First Baptist Church with Norman Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 6-8 pm at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.
He passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in Childress.
Trilton Joe Jouett was born June 2, 1951 in Hall County to Gene and Joye Davis Jouett. He graduated Estelline High School in 1969 and then married Cathy Jane Sides November 29, 1969.
Joe was a farmer and rancher who was President of Greenbelt Farmer’s Co-op, Chairman of the Childress County Farm Service Agency Committee, former board member of the Childress Independent School District Board of Trustees, First Baptist Church of Childress Deacon, former President of the Childress County Livestock Show Committee for over 20 years, Childress Chamber of Commerce Farmer of the Year, Fort Worth Star Telegram Farmer of the Year and President of Farmer’s Co-op Gin.
He loved his wife, kids, and grandkids, as well as his horses, dogs, and cattle. He also loved his Sunday School class, The Redeemed, at First Baptist Church. Joe was known as a follower of Christ and his actions reflected his heart. Over the years he was involved in several discipleship opportunities such as the Walk to Emmaus and Kairos prison ministries. His passion for the Lord continuously lead his desire to be the best husband, father, grandfather, son, sibling, and friend to all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Jouett, and a nephew, Danny Jouett, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Jouett of Childress; two daughters, Tina Tullos and husband, Jodie, of Waco and Cari Callan and husband, Kevin, of Lone Grove, Okla.; a son, Eric Jouett of Childress; grandchildren Laycee Tullos of Waco, Brison Tullos of Waco, Clessie Burton and husband, Brenden of Kingsville, Texas, Carson Callan of Lone Grove, Okla., and Tyler Wiginton of Ingleside, Texas; one great grandchild, Stratton Tullos of Waco; his mother, Joye Jouett of Childress, a brother Danny Jouett and wife, Linda, of Amarillo, a sister Debbie Pierce and husband, Rickey, of Childress, a sister Marsha Meacham and husband, Gary, of Childress, a sister Dinah DeArmond and husband, Mark, of Childress, a sister Leah Helm and husband, John Paul, of Childress, a brother-in-law Edwin Sides and wife, Kim, of Childress, a sister-in-law Sherry Haddon of Lubbock along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family suggests memorials be made to Childress Meals on Wheels.
