Obituary for Tommy Pickrel

Tommy Eugene Pickrel, age 78, passed away at his home and surrounded by family on October 2, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Goodlett Baptist Church with Brother Wesley Smith and Heath Wilson, Son-in-Law, officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Tommy was born on August 10, 1940 in Hardeman County, Texas to George Allen and Lola Mae (Pullen) Pickrel. He met and married the love of his life, Linda Conaway, on December 7, 1959, and they spent 58 years in laughter, love and raising a family. Tommy was a hard worker, farming for over fourty years before working for Hardeman County. He also loved the outdoors, and enjoyed trapping, hunting, arrowheads and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Clinton Dale Pickrel, two brothers Wayne Pickrel and Larry Clifton, and a sister Nita Horn. Survivors include his wife, Linda of Quanah; three daughters, Regina Cary and husband, Danny of Childress, Sharon Pickrel of Denton, and Melinda Wilson and husband, Heath of Quanah; grandsons, Josh Harris and wife, Julie of Stephenville, and James Harris of Childress; granddaughter, Taylor Beighle and husband, Hunter of Georgetown; great-grandson, Daemon Beighle of Georgetown; two sisters, Norma Hill and husband, Ken of Battle Creek, MI, and Patricia Clifton of Vernon; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
