Obituary for Timothy Wyatt

Timothy Edd Wyatt, age 66 of Childress, passed away on Nov. 12, 2016 in Oklahoma City. His life will be celebrated with a memorial service with fellowship and food at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Tell Southside Baptist Church with Trey Morgan officiating and Ben Sanford assisting. Burial was held at an earlier time under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Born on April 11, 1950, Tim was the oldest child of Edwin and Fae McLean Wyatt. He grew up in Tell and attended Tell school until its closure. Tim graduated from Childress High School in 1968, and graduated from Texas Tech University four years later. In 1975, he married Sherry Ranae Powers. Tim was a fifth-generation Childress County farmer and rancher, who enjoyed working with his cattle and in his orchard. He also worked in Saudi Arabia developing farm land and for the Federal Land Bank in Oklahoma and Kansas. He was a member of the Tell Southside Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father, Edwin; grandparents A.B. and Annie Wyatt and Agnes and Burt McLean; and Godparents, Chick and Rudine Johnson. Survivors include his wife Ranae; children Taron Wyatt and wife, Kristy of Cee Vee, Whitney Wyatt of Dallas, and Felicia Sanford and husband, Ben of Richardson. Grandchildren include MacKenzie, Ally, Lani, Libby, Bentley, Collin and a foster grandson. He is also survived by his mother, Fae Wyatt of Childress; siblings Lileesa Inman and husband, Dale, Cavin Wyatt and wife, Debbie, Connie Wyatt, and Aimee Bowman and husband, Greg; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. All family and friends are welcome to celebrate his life at his memorial service with visitation and lunch afterwards. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Tell Cemetery Association.
