Pappy Pappas died April 3, 2013 in Childress. Memorial Services were held Monday, April 8, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Thomas Gregory Pappas was born May 11, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas and Ann Tomczyk Pappas. In 1964 he graduated high school in Niles, Illinois where he served on the student council with Hillary Rodham Clinton. He was a veteran of the National Guard. In HOT ROD magazine, he was featured as 1975 Rookie of the Year. In the past, he owned and operated several successful car businesses and was employed as property manager at the site where he currently lived. Pappy was very generous with what he possessed, always helpful, and was especially kind-hearted. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother. He is survived by sister, Joan Bell and husband, Robert of Oak Harbor, WA.; brother, John Pappas; two step-sons, Doug and Brian Herring; Aunt and Uncle, Eleanor and Steve Muscari; cousins, Steven, Janet, Greg, Glen, and cousin, Theresa Tomczyk
