Obituary for Tom Dewey
Tom Dewey, age 79, was born on September 27, 1944 to William Edward Dewey and Eva Lorene”McCown” Dewey.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the First Baptist Church of Childress with Kerry Wood officiating.
Tom was a loving husband and father and was married to the love of his life Mary (Snider) Dewey for 58 years until his passing. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967. He was a Boy Scout Master and Leader of Troop 136 and he was a little league coach in Haskell, Texas. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge #695 and also the Order of the Eastern Star in Childress. After retiring from GTE as a cable splicer, he worked for AEP as a radio technician and then for the United States Postal Service as a contract mail carrier. Of all of his occupations, farming was his favorite.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Milton Goff; brother, Norton Kelly Goff.

Son - Michael Edward Dewey of Dallas, TX
Daughter - Mary Lynn Dewey of Childress, TX
Son - Timothy Edward Dewey and wife, Amanda of Childress, TX
Brother - Travis Lee Dewey and wife, Debbie of Haskell, TX
Numerous Cousins, Nephews and Nieces.
