Obituary for Terry "Granny" Musgrove

Terry Lynn “Granny” Musgrove, 60, left this Earth to be with the Lord on July 28, 2017 in Amarillo. She was born on July 31, 1956 in Childress to Jimmy and Lillie Hendrickson. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Musgrove Family Cemetery with Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2017. Terry married Douglas Musgrove July 11, 1975 in Childress where they lived 42 years together. Most of that time was spent on Avenue K Southeast. They had a wonderful marriage, rarely argued, and talked things through. They taught their daughters the meaning of true love. Her husband was her number one, as it should be. They enjoyed being with each other even if Douglas had sports on in two different rooms, she loved it because he was there. God knew what He was doing when he put Terry and Doug together. Terry was a saint in her daughters’ eyes. She helped those in need and never hesitated to buy Christmas gifts, school clothes or anything else for a family in need as well as taking care of those around her too. She didn’t need credit for these things and asked for nothing in return, she just loved seeing people happy. Her girls never wanted for anything and she was their best friend. They talked to their mother whether it was a good day, bad day, or just time to talk. The girls are thankful that they felt loved and cared for and it made for an unbreakable bond. Not only did she help people, but she helped animals too. She fed the neighborhood cats and was the best pet owner. Whatever pet she had at the time, had a wonderful life. The grandkids will grow up with one less grandmother, or Granny in their words, but she will have the best seat in the house when it comes to watching them grow up. She had a very special bond with her oldest granddaughter, Jordan. Jordan was blessed to be with Terry for almost 10 years before the second grandchild was born. She was the angel that Terry needed at the time she was born. She loved to watch Jordan compete in sports and going to her games was a priority. She will be missed sitting in the stands watching Jordan play volleyball or run track. She will be missed on her daily trips to Pak-A-Sak for her tea or Coke Zero. She will be missed taking Lillie to Dawson’s for breakfast on Fridays. She will be missed everywhere. Survivors include husband Douglas Musgrove; three daughters, Tiffany Youell and husband Brad, Dana Friel and husband Kris, and Alicia Hunter and husband Justin; nine grandchildren, Jordan, Kaden, Cayden, Caylee, Alex, Landry, Zane, Harper, and Evan; her mom Lillie Eaton; sisters Judy Arnn and husband Dusty and Patricia Connell and husband Shelley; nieces Dusti Shipman, Suzanne Ellis, and Kelly Gardner and nephews, Jimmy Bradford, Nicky Bradford and Justin Lane. She is also survived by so many others that she loved with all her heart. She was preceded in death by a niece Pamela Lankford, her father, Jimmy Hendrickson, a sister Julene Payne, in-laws Wade and Alice Musgrove, and brother-in-law Phillip Musgrove.
