Obituary for Teresa Pereyra

Teresa Gonzales Pereyra was born on November 17, 1957, to Vincente and Elisa Gonzales. Teresa gained her angel wings and went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on December 12, 2020.
Teresa was born and raised in Stockdale, Texas, and moved to Childress in 1984.
Teresa was a God-fearing woman and often referred to herself as a prayer warrior. Teresa loved doing many things but the love she had for her family was indescribable. She loved making memories with her family and she loved to love on her grandbabies and there are a lot of them to love. She loved to go fishing and pick pecans. Teresa’s love for our Lord took her to become a life-long member of The Pentecostals Church of Childress.
Teresa is survived by the love of her life, Fortino Pereyra Sr. whom she married in 1974; her children, Stephanie Williams and her husband Bobby, Fortino Pereyra Jr., Tonya Pereyra and husband, Larry Short, Elizabeth “Liz” Pereyra, Camelia Fields and brothers and sisters Manuel Gonzales, John Gonzales, Melinda Gonzales Thompson, Deloris Reyna, Rachel Gonzales & Vicky Gonzales. Teresa had 18 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her children Gabriel Pereyra Sr., Rachel Pereyra, and Donald Pereyra; her parents Vincente and Elise Pereyra, and her brothers and sisters, Pete, Marine, Basalia Tonja, Martina Ray all of Gonzales, Estella Lara,
Teresa was a wonderful woman and many loved her. She was so humble and caring, there wasn’t a person out there that she would not try to help but most importantly, pray for. Teresa would often say “One day at a time – live one day at a time” and that she did. She lived her day full of faith and her heart filled with love for her family and her Pereyra (this is what she called her husband Fortino.)
