Obituary for Sybil Adams

Sybil Adams, age, 101, passed from this life on Thursday, May 2, 2019 in Memphis.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, May 6, 2019 in the Joe E. Jones Memorial Chapel in Childress Cemetery with Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6:30 pm on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home.
Sybil was born on August 31, 1917 in Vinson, Oklahoma to Medley S. and Mable (Sherrell) Hammonds. She married Jack Adams in 1939 in Amarillo and they spent over 60 years together in love and laughter. She loved her family, and helping build a loving and Christian home for them brought her great joy.
Sybil was a strong, devoted Christian woman who read her Bible daily and prayed fervently. She was a prayer warrior, and her faith and love for God were of high priority in her life. She was a homemaker who loved life. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and to make others laugh too.
Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, and two daughters Judy Cheatheam and Becky Snellgrove.
Survivors include six grandchildren, Patricia Beachler and husband Mike, Scott Snellgrove and wife Jaymie, Kristie Trammell and husband Stacy, Butch Cheatheam and wife Jan, Randy Cheatheam and wife Stephanie, and Robbie Cheatheam and wife Kathy; twenty-three great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law Bill Snellgrove and wife Cheryl; and several extended family and friends.
