Swanee Culpepper Mullenix, age 83, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 in Childress. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, January 21, 2013 at the Joe E. Jones Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Shoffner officiating . Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Swanee was born June 19, 1929 in Pineforrest, Texas to Fred and Ila Culpepper. She graduated from Saltillo High School. She later married Joe Mullenix, May 31, 1947 in Talco, TX. For many years she was employed at Boles Jewelry in downtown Childress. As a sales representative with Avon, Swanee was awarded many Mrs. Albe statues for excellence in sales. Her favorite passtimes were reading and crocheting. She was a member of Fairview Church of Christ.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe.
