Sarah Meacham is survived by her son Gary Meacham and wife Marsha of Childress; her daughter Cindy Blanke, of Amarillo, and her son Frank Meacham of San Angelo, TX. Also surviving are her grandchildren Erica Timmons and husband Corey with great grandchildren Carly and Daxon of Lubbock; Blake Meacham and fiancé Tisha Favor with great grandchildren Harlie and Thor of Childress; Brandon Blanke with great grandchildren Emery and Scarlett of Amarillo; and her constant companion and source of comfort, her cat Minxy. She also leaves behind 3 very dear friends: Anna Saucedo of Junction, Shirley Couch of Lubbock, and Rosella Brooks of Childress as well as a host of family and friends.   She is preceded in death by her parents Wylie and Estelle Moss, one sister Doris Hughes, her husband Jim B Meacham, and her daughter Jammie B Cammack.   Sarah Jane Meacham was born on July 1, 1939 in Pittsburg, Texas to parents Wylie Moss and Estelle Reed. She graduated from high school and then, at the age of 42, attended Amarillo College with her daughter Cindy, to obtain an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She worked in nursing until the age of 76, when she had a stroke that prevented her from being able to return. She served on several committees and medical boards.   Her passions were her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader, a wonderful cook, and loved working in her flower garden. She, along with her husband, fostered 4 children in their later years. She had a love for kids and often provided a meal, a bed, or just an ear to listen when they needed it. She felt a lot of compassion for animals and every night put food out for any stray animal that might show up and be hungry. Her loss will be felt by many.   The family would like to thank Susie, Childress Health Center, Childress Regional Medical Center Hospital, Home Health, and Hospice for their superior care of their mother in her last months, weeks, and days of life. A special thanks to Dr. Kimberly Nelson for her compassion in caring for our mother. Donations can be sent to CRMC Hospice and Home Health.
