Ruth Fuston Lyles, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Childress Church of Christ with Mr. Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 until service time on Monday. Ruth was born on December 17, 1927 in Turkey, Texas to John Alvis and Alice (George) Fuston. She married Eldon Lyles on January 18, 1947, and they shared 68 years in love and laughter until his passing on April 15, 2015. Ruth was a Christian woman, who was a member of the Childress Church of Christ and taught her family the importance of faith and a relationship with Christ. She was also a hard worker, having worked many years doing clerical work for several different local businesses and entities. Ruth was a homemaker, and loved to quilt, bake, and was a really good cook. She was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club and the Quilters Club. Above all else, Ruth loved her family, and showed her love in everything she did. She was proud of them all and their accomplishments. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eldon, and a sister Loetta Ferguson. Survivors include one daughter, Melinda Lollar and husband, Paul of Dublin, TX; one son, Don Lyles and wife, Mary Sue of Amarillo; three brothers, James Fuston and wife, Wilda and Denny Fuston and wife, Mitchie all of Turkey, and John Fuston and wife, Joan of Ft. Worth; five grandchildren, Allison Andrews, Katy Flick, Julie Lyles, Aimee Bussard and Darcee Thompson; six great-grandchildren, Therron Thompson, Grant Thompson, Hunter Bussard, Ethan Thompson, Ainsley Bussard, and Cambree Thompson; and numerous extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Childress Church of Christ, 210 2nd St. SE, Childress, TX 79201.
