She transitioned from Earth to Heaven on February 13, 2022 in Childress.
Ruby was born October 7, 1952 in Plainview to Billy and Jorine Hughes. She was the seventh of 11 children. Ruby attended Childress Public Schools. She was saved around 16 years of age under her father’s ministry and began a work in the church in various capacities. Ruby met the love of her life, Roger Weeks, and they married July 16, 1970. They were blessed with five children: Jackie, Leeann, Roger Jr., Joshiah, and Tommy Lee. Family was important to Ruby and she loved spending time with them as well as friends. Ruby was a warm, friendly person that loved laughter and being around people; she never met a stranger. She also enjoyed her quiet time and fishing. Ruby’s favorite pastime was studying and reading her Bible and she loved to sing and talk about the Word of God. Roger and Ruby did ministry work all around the Panhandle of Texas and Oklahoma and pastored in Matador, Paducah, Wellington, Pampa, Childress, Quitaque, Turkey and Amarillo. Ruby was truly a Proverbs 31 Woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Alvin, Doris, Climmie, Annie Ruth and Charles Ray; brother-in-law Eldridge Miller, and two sisters-in-law, Marcie Hughes and Tip Hunnicutt.
