Obituary for Robert Proctor
Robert Proctor, Jr., 85 years young, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at his home in Childress, TX.
Graveside services will be held at 5:00pm, Monday, February 17, 2020 in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey, TX.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Home.
A second visitation will be held prior to the graveside services on Monday from 3:00pm to 4:30pm at the Church of Christ Fellowship Hall of Turkey, TX.
Robert was born February 5, 1935 in Buffalo Flat, TX to Robert and Izell Proctor. He was the second of seven children, William Proctor, Doyle Proctor, Dwayne Proctor, Lowell Proctor, Gail Proctor Edwards and Alvin Proctor. Robert graduated Turkey High School in 1954 and went to work on the Shoe Bar Ranch later moving to the Mill Iron Ranch where he worked for about 10 years. Roberts career took a change in 1966 when he went to work at the Rolling Plains Production Association and later settled into the banking business at First Bank and Trust where he retired in 1996. At that time, he raised cattle full time and enjoyed being on horseback again rounding up cattle. He is survived by a son, Wes Proctor and his wife Tammy of San Angelo, TX and a daughter, Gwen Parson and her husband Mark of Frisco, TX, five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, The America Lung Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
