Obituary for Robert Johnson

Funeral services for Robert Johnson will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 2:00PM at The First United Methodist Church with Rev. Johnny Robertson and Rev. Lou Ellerbrook officiating. Burial will be in the Childress Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 6-8PM at Johnson Funeral Home.  Robert L. Johnson was born on February 25, 1935 in Callahan County to Ruby and Lewis Johnson.  He married Shirley Saverance September 5, 1953. Robert worked for West Texas Utitlies for 41 years retiring at the age of 59. Robert served as President in many organizations which included Bobcat Boosters, Greenbelt Bowl and Hughes Bible Class at the First Methodist Church. Robert was a Christian man and loved his church family. Robert had many hobbies,  hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.He and his hunting buddies remained good friends thru the years. He loved his family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all living in Childress. He was a loving husband, father, and Papa. Robert would help anyone who needed help. He loved his little dog JAX. He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 Brother. He is survived by: Wife-Shirley Johnson  Son-Larry Johnson and wife Sharon of Childress; 2 Daughters-Becky Barley and Husband Tony of Childress; Glenda Cribbs and Husband Bud of Childress; 8 Grandchildren: Landon Johnson, Larin Boles, Toby Barley, Brooke Baize, Bradley Cribbs, Reese Cribbs, Zach Pierce, Mallorye Pierce 10 Great Grandchildren: Maddi Bryant, Hayden Cribbs, Addi Baize, Laney Johnson, Max Boles, Jaidee Cribbs, Gavin Navarrette, Gunner Pierce, Casey Martin, Cole Martin
