Obituary for Robert Eppers

Robert Ardell Eppers, age 93, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019.
Military graveside honors will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, Texas with Rev. Daniel Downey officiating. Burial is under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Childress.
Robert was born on June 18, 1925 in Hedley, Texas to James Allison “Cotton” and Ola May (Armstrong) Eppers.
Robert served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a hard worker and a “jack of all trades”, having worked not only as a construction laborer doing carpentry and welding but also raised cattle. He loved “cowboying” and country music, and being outdoors in the sunshine was where he felt at peace and happy. He also loved to take drives, take in the scenery, and enjoyed good food (especially Peanut Butter cookies).
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and one brother.
Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Joe Gail McDougal and wife Carolyn of Dalhart, Bill Wallace of California, Beverly Wilke and husband Edmund of Lubbock, Tommie Irene Quisenberry of Las Vegas, NV, Robin Molloy and husband Steve of Memphis, TX, and Robert Arther of Valdosta, Georgia; special friend and caregiver, Maria Moreno of Wellington; and several extended family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Meals on Wheels in Memphis or Wellington.
