Obituary for Rhonda Nail

Rhonda Kay Nail, age 64, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Parkview Baptist Church with Pastor Don McFarland officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rhonda was born on October 5, 1953 in Childress to Sanford Clayton and Lois Lawanda (Rhodes) Nail. She was a hard worker, and loved her customers and her job at First Bank and Trust. After work, she could not wait to get home and change into her MooMoo. She also enjoyed getting her fix with Dr. Phil and filling her evenings with the drama of reality TV. Rhonda was a scooter-riding Granny who enjoyed sewing, and loved the challenge of being out of balance at work. Elvis was the main man in her life, and she had a great sense of humor. She loved a good burger or gizzards and gravy. Above all else, Rhonda loved her family and really enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. She liked to travel, and going on family vacations and small trips. She also loved trying new recipes and feeding her family. She enjoyed getting to teach the grandkids how to drive. In recent years, she was adamant that she did not want to be a burden to her family that she loved so dearly. The family would like to say a very special thank you to Larry Johnson and the First Bank and Trust crew. Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Randal Nail and Weldon Eugene Nail, one sister Wanda Joy Nail, and a grandchild Trustin “Bubba” Wade. Survivors include two daughters, Julie Ann Mojica and husband, Rudy of Okarche, OK, and Misti Kay Blacksher of Childress; two brothers, James Alton Nail of Childress, and Wayne Nail and wife, Mary of Borger, TX; granddaughters Cassandra Justine Salazar and husband, Juan of Abilene, and TaeLynn Kay Blacksher of Childress; grandsons Dirk Austin Gonzales and wife, Kimberly of El Reno, OK, and Tayson Allen Blacksher of Childress; great-grandchildren Jaslynn and Jet Salazar of Abilene, and Kash Gonzales of El Reno, OK; numerous nieces and nephews; and her family at First Bank and Trust.
