Obituary for Rhonda Rice Hickman
Funeral services for Rhonda Rice Hickman, 58, will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Childress Church of Christ with Dr. Craig Darter officiating and Trey Morgan assisting. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
She passed away September 1, 2023 in Dallas.
Rhonda was born March 14th, 1965, in Ardmore, Ok to Marion (Hoot) and Pauline Rice.
She was the youngest of 4 children. She graduated in 1983 from Corsicana High School and East Texas State University in 1988. She had three children: Jacob, Benjamin, and Rachel. On December 21st, 1991, she married Jay Nathan Hickman. Rhonda and Jay led a life filled with love. Rhonda was a Wife, Mother, Sister, Daughter, Teacher, Musician, confidant, and friend. Her love of children and caring nature made teaching her students a joy to her heart. Whether they be piano or school, every student was like another child in her heart. Rhonda loved to travel and was always up for the sun and beach. She had a love for music and was an accomplished pianist. She always wanted to help when she saw someone in need. She attended the Childress Church of Christ in Childress, Texas.
Rhonda is survived by her loving husband, Jay N. Hickman; son Jacob Aaron Bass, his wife Emily and future Granddaughter Violet of Marble Falls; son Benjamin Lee Hickman, daughter Rachel Elizabeth Hickman; her parents Marion (Hoot) and Pauline Rice of Ada, OK; her sister Theresa Smith and Husband Brent of Ada, OK; Barbara Voigt and husband Jim of Saint Joseph, MO; her brother Larry Rice and wife Sally of Spring Branch, TX.
In memory of Rhonda’s love and support for the troubled children she always wanted to do more for, the family would ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to “Casa of the Rolling Plains”.
