Pedro "Pete" Jurado, age 65, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Friday, November 7 at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father David Contreras officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rosary will be held on Thursday, November 6 at 6 PM in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pedro was born on January 20, 1949 in Julimes Chihuahua, Mexico to Felix and Elena (Pando) Jurado. He came to the United States when he was 17. A hard worker, he was a self-taught mechanic. Pedro was a Gin Foreman at Hulver Gin in Estelline for 12 years before owning his own mechanic shop. He loved music, was a giving person, and was a friend to many and to anyone who needed help. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Mission of Wichita Falls, 1300 Travis St., Wichita Falls, TX 76301. Survivors include his wife, Alicia, of Childress; three daughters, Patricia Turner and husband, Tim, of Keller, TX, Mely Burch and husband, Andrew, of Childress, and Angie Rojo and husband, Pedro, of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Guadalupe Jurado, Sr. and Francisco Jurado, Sr.; three sisters, Otilia Hernandez, Bertha Jurado and Maria Elena Castro; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
