Obituary for Paul Phillmore

Paul Albert Phillmore, age 62 and formerly of Childress, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie A. Ballard officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Paul was born on May 3, 1954 in Sweetwater, Texas to Albert and Lillie (Knox) Phillmore.  He was a graduate of Childress High School, and served his country in the United States Marine Corp. In 1975, he married Sandra Randle.  He ejoyed watching sports, especially the Thunder and the Cowboys.   He loved music of all kinds, socializing with his friends; playing dominoes and cards and was know to all as P Funk.  Most importantly he loved his God and his Family. A Christian man, he was a deacon at New Covenant Baptist Church in Oklahoma City where he was a member.   He was a loving husband and father.   Paul was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, and one daughter Aretha Nash. Survivors include his wife, Sandra  of Oklahoma City; their daughter Chasity  of Amarillo,stepdaughters Tammy  of Jacksonville, Florida and Camillia  of Amarillo; son Clifton  of Childress; brother Raymond Phillmore of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters Mattie Phillmore of Oklahoma City,  Evelyn Jennings of Oklahoma City, and  Marcelyn Phillmore of California; six grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
