Obituary for Alvin Jones
Graveside services for Alvin Jones, 64, will be held Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Childress Cemetery with Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
He passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Amarillo.
Alvin was born January 10, 1956 in Childress to Olin Jones and Mable Ellifritz Jones.
Alvin was a beloved custodian at Childress High School for 32 years where he loved working and everyone there loved him. He loved his family very much, he loved Elvis Presley, country music and AC/DC. He liked his music loud, the louder the better. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and he enjoyed listening to local radio, especially tradio. He also loved his dogs Jenny, Sophia, Spud and Gigi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Larry Jones and a sister, Lydia Hulen.
Survivors include his wife, Darla Jones; a son, Eric Jones; a daughter, Margaret Trent and husband, Johnny; grandchildren Savannah, Sadie and Walker Trent; a sister, Betty Gonzales; a half sister Donna O’Neal; his mother-in-law, Carolyn Lance; aunt and uncle Betty and Dub Stanley and numerous cousins, other family members and friends.
