Neal Dan Scott, age 67, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 in Childress. Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Childress with Christopher Tipa officiating . Burial will be in Kirkland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00pm. at Johnson Funeral Home. Neal was born in Wellington, Texas to J.C. and Atha Scott, Jr. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served in the Army from 1963 through 1966 and then was transferred to serve in the Air Force, being discharged in 1977. He and wife, Carol, married November 10, 1978 in Childress. In Wichita Falls, he worked for PPG Industries #4, and Brahms; in Childress he was employed at Allsups # 83. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Neal was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Don Scott, and son, Michael Kuhns. Survivors: Wife - Carol Scott, and Mother-in-law, Stella Mahan both of the home; 3 Sons: Leslie Daniel Scott, Wichita Falls, TX Edward Scott, Wichita, KS., James Scott, Oak Point, TX. 3 Daughters: Barbara Lamar, Wichita Falls, TX, Crystal Russell, Childress, Ruth Kinder, Ft. Riley, KS Fourteen Grandchildren - Meagan Shannon, Marissa Muse, Samantha Scott, Bruce Scott,, Mark Bedford, Cameron Brasket, Devon Scott, Roman Scott, Tanner Russell, Kayla Russell Zoey Scott, Jarom Kinder, Mileah Kinder, and Tessa Pancake Three Great Grandchildren - Cache Pancake, Marissa Pancake, and Aria Shannon Memorials can be made to The Kirkland Cemetery Association.
