Najla Saied, age 87 of Childress, died Monday, December 29, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 in First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Lanford, officiating . Due to weather, the committal service will be held in the Joe E. Jones Chapel in Childress Cemetery. Najla was born on January 21, 1927 in Archer City, TX to Ben and Adeeba (Haaman) Saied. Najla was a giving person who was generous to a fault and loved to help people. She was compassionate and loving to everyone, but her family was her passion and what she cherished most. Although she had no children of her own, she considered her nieces and nephews as her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Katy Farris, and three brothers Alexander, George and Louis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
