Memorial services for Monty Max Longbine, 72, will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the Friends of Estelline Reunion Building, 501 Burnett in Estelline. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral home Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
He passed away January 29, 2023 in Childress.
Monty Max Longbine was born October 8, 1950 to Frank and Doris Sams Longbine.
He was a collector of arrowheads and spearheads and loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed visiting casinos, especially Las Vegas. He was a very simple man who didn’t yearn for much out of life. He was always willing to help anyone however he could. He could usually be found at the Estelline Coop or cruising a back road with Craig.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Terry Longbine.
Survivors include a daughter, Misty Longbine, of Childress; a daughter, Melissa Brown and spouse, Iran of Weatherford, Texas; a son, Brian Longbine, of Texas; a daughter, Melinda Longbine, of Lubbock; a brother, Clyde Longbine and spouse, Dale, of Granbury; a sister, Wanda Smith and spouse, Steve, of Clarendon; a brother, Glen Longbine, of Waxahachie, Texas; a sister, Gaynell Miller and spouse, Randy, of Wichita Falls; his best friend, Craig Collins, of Estelline; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerus nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Childress Regional Medical Center Hospice or Friends of Estelline organizations.
