Obituary for Monty Lynn Cameron

Graveside services for Monty Lynn Cameron, 69, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Childress Cemetery with Terry Williams officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
He passed away October 6, 2021 in Liberal, Kansas.
He was born August 18, 1952 in Quanah to Montie Frank Cameron and Jean Felton Cameron. He was a 1970 graduate of Childress High School and a 1974 graduate of Tarleton State University with a degree in Agriculture Science. He returned to Childress County to farm as most of his adult life was spent in agriculture. He served on the board of directors for the Greenbelt Co-op for a number of years. Later, he worked for Equity Exchange at Memphis and Turpin, Okla. He also worked for B3R Meats and Custom Farming. He donated his time to FFA and 4-H kids on the Childress County Youth Projects Show and enjoyed showing cattle in stock shows himself.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Linda Dunn and Clara Cameron, and a brother, Charles Cameron.
Survivors include his brother, Felton Cameron and wife, Connie, of Childress; sister, Ronda Chumney and husband, Damon, of Evant, Texas; sister Londa McKandless and husband, Steve, of Hamilton, Texas; nieces and nephews Monty Dunn and wife, Sheryl, of Childress; Kyle McKandless and wife, Shawna, of Hamilton; Kathy Zapalac and husband, Brian, of Katy; Kelli McKandless and wife, Audrey Lam of Parker, Colorado; Lee Cameron and wife, Rena, of Borger; Shana Curry and husband, Levi, of Abernathy; Lana Bush and husband, Joel, of Fredericksburg; great nieces and nephews, Kameron McKandless of Stephenville; Sheyenne Leija and husband, Eric, of 29 Palms, California; Isaiah Dunn of Childress; Tyler Cameron of Amarillo; Kade McKandless of Hamilton; Eldon and Frank Zapalac of Katy; Layken and Kelbi Curry of Abernathy; Kelton and Josie Bush of Fredericksburg; and great great nephew Erick Bruce Leija of 29 Palms, California.
