Obituary for Mildred Busby

Mildred Busby, age 56, of Paducah passed away on July 28, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Paducah with Bobby Evans of Antioch Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories in Paducah under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Visitation will be held at noon at the church on Saturday prior to the service. Mildred was born on March 1, 1961 in New Deal, Texas to M.C. and Ellen (Jones) Searcy. After graduating from high school, she went on to receive her cosmetology license, as well as became a certified Dietary Manager and a certified Teacher Aide for Dunbar school. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, and in early years playing softball. Mildred was also actively involved in the community as a bookkeeper for Paducah High School volleyball and basketball, as well as working the Paducah rodeo and little league youth baseball concession stand. Mildred was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, M.C. Searcy and Ellen (Jones) Robinson; three brothers, Emmitt Jones and Charlie Jones of Paducah, and Ray Charles Jones of Arizona; sisters Lula Davis of Dallas, Lamarylis McGuire and Linda Smart of Paducah. Survivors include her husband, Edward Busby; two sons, Edward “Bubba” Busby, Jr. of Paducah, and Jeremy Busby of Dallas; one step-daughter, LaShonda Busby of Los Angeles, CA; three granddaughters, Trinity and Taliah Busby of Richmond, VA, and Ahshainta Rodriguez of Los Angeles, CA; two brothers, Willie Davis of Dallas, and Ricky Searcy of Paducah; sister Barbara Jones of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. The family of Mildred Busby wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to their many friends for their thoughtfulness in prayers, flowers, food and other acts of kindness.
