Obituary for Melinda Bradford

It is with great sadness the family of Melinda Bradford announces her passing after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the age of 66.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Christopher Hunter Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Quitaque under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Preceded in death by her father and mother Claudie and Edna Williamson and two brothers Charles Williamson and Jimmie Claude Williamson.
Melinda will be remembered as a loving mother to Gladys “Missy” Williamson, Tyron “Keith” (Alicia) Williamson, Derrick (Dee) Williamson, Cleveland Nelson Jr., and Hollee Cornish. Being a wonderful grandmother to 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Melindal also leaves behind two sisters, Shirley Hollie and Claudia Williamson and one brother, Ivory (Becky) Williamson. She leaves behind many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved.
Melinda attended J.J. Rhodes School until schools were integrated and finished her education at Childress High School. She was known for being a hard worker. She worked for several years at Walmart and then to work for private care. She then went to work for Cottage Village and Childress Regional Medical Center. She then babysat her little “Bubba” until she was called to her home.
She loved to read and was an avid sports fan. She especially loved watching UT girls volleyball. She looked forward to March Madness every year. She participated in softball, both women and co-ed leagues, for several years. She even dabbled in coaching little dribblers girls basketball and little league softball. She was really competitive and showed that spirit of competition by playing spades and whisk. She demonstrated stewardship as a member for many years at the New Hope Baptist Church working over the kitchen where she was also head of the hospitality committee.
Now she is at rest in her new home over in glory!
