Obituary for Mary Lou McKee

Graveside services for Mary Lou McKee, 80, will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Childress Cemetery with Randy Wilson officiating and Paul Harris assisting. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Johnson Funeral Home.
She passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 in Amarillo.
Mary Lou Harris was born May 12, 1941 to Earl Franklin Harris and Louise Fellow Harris in Quanah. She married Dwayne McKee April 23, 1966 in Carey Baptist Church, where she remained a member and highly active for 56 years. She helped in every way imaginable at the church including in the Women’s Missionary Union to Sunday School teacher and everything in between. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing the piano. Most of all, she loved her family, especially the grandkids. She and Dwayne drove many miles for games and other activities of the grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Dwayne McKee; two sons, Jeff McKee and wife, Belinda, and Barry McKee; grandsons Chiles Spencer, Solon McKee, Tanner McKee and Joseph McKee and granddaughter, Daryn McKee; a sister, Carolyn Jennings and husband, Jim; a sister-in-law, Beth Pierce and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
