Mary Kate Holland, age 92, passed away on April 29, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Joe E. Jones Memorial Chapel (Childress Cemetery Chapel) with Chad King officiating. Burial will immediately follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Mary Kate attended West Texas University in Canyon, TX. She got her bachelors degree in Education. She taught school for many years. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church. She was very involved in her church and taught Sunday school. She loved to read. She also loved her family dearly and loved their family gatherings. She is preceded in death by parents; Henry M. and Cleo Goldie (Grundy) Baker; husband; J.B. Holland; two brothers; Henry M. Baker Jr. and John W. Baker; grandson; Gary Barlow. Survivors include: Daughter- Linda Barlow and husband Jimmy Barlow of Childress, TX. Daughter- Evelyn Hudson of Amarillo, TX Son- John Holland and wife Susan of Hurst, TX. Son- Joe Holland and Dana of Breckenridge, CO Daughter- Jay Nell Perry and husband Mike of Pueblo, CO Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Childress Regional Medical Center or First Baptist Church of Childress, TX.
