Graveside services for Maria M. Arellano will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Joe E. Jones Chapel at Childress Cemetery with Matthew Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
She was born September 25, 1931 to Sostenez and Leon Martinez in Derby, Texas.
She married Refugio Arellano on June 25, 1948 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. She worked as a seamstress, retail clerk and homemaker. She loved to take long drives and enjoyed looking at the countryside and wildlife. She loved going out of town shopping and visiting different parks on their travels.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Refugio Arellano, Jr., Rosie Estrada, Joe Arellano and Olga Arellano.
Survivors include her children, Arnesto Arellano, Ralph Arellano, Belinda Madrigales and husband, Enoe, Sylvia Baeza and husband, George, Noe Arellano and wife, Melissa, Liza Catin and husband German, Angelo Arellano and wife, Teresa, son-in-law Juan Estrada, daughter-in-law Rosa (Chela) Arellano, 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
