Margarito "Mike" Hernandez, Jr., age 71, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Childress. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, April 04, 2016 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Christopher Tipa officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 5 to 7 P.M. Mike was born on July 25, 1944 in Raymondville, TX to Margarito and Dominga (Vitela) Hernandez, Sr. He loved being outdoors, and enjoyed taking his Bronco to sand drags and the river to go mudding. A hard worker, he had worked for Kenneth Ellis for over 30 years. He loved his family, and being with them and spending time cooking out and having family meals brought him a lot of happiness. Mike also loved spending time with his beloved dog, Lemon. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Esperanza Hernandez and Maria Hernandez.
