Obituary for Margaret White

Margaret Lou Bobo White, age 85 of Childress, died Thursday, June 5, 2014. Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Monday, June 9, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Childress with Kerry Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, from 6-8 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. An extended visitation will be held afterwards at the Holiday Inn Express of Childress. Margaret was born on November 11, 1928 in Clarendon, TX to John and Vera (Bohannon) Morris. She married Fred Bobo in the First Baptist Church of Childress on September 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1985, after 39 years of marriage. On May 24, 2003, she married her high school sweetheart, O.J. White. Margaret had a zest for life. She loved fishing, dancing, travelling, an occasional casino trip, and most of all spending time with her family. She was famous for her chocolate pies and sheath cakes and never had a meal without a dessert at the end. Margaret was a hairdresser in Hollis, OK and at the Childress Nursing Center. She was an active member of the PTA and loved attending all the school functions of her children and grandchildren. She was also the Activity Director at the Childress Nursing Center and an active volunteer for CRMC Hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Bobo; and brother, John W. Morris, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CRMC Hospice, PO Box 1030, Childress, TX 79201, or to We Can Care. Survivors include her husband, O.J., of the home; three children, Fred Bobo and wife, Charlene, of Amarillo, TX, Brenda Ridenour and husband, Steve, of Blanchard, OK, and Victor Bobo and wife, Brenda, of Lubbock, TX; stepchildren Brenda Hicks of Golden, CO, Darlene Smith and husband, Benny, of Cedar Hill, TX, Jim Fulcher of Albuquerque, NM, David White of Amarillo, and Bill White and wife, Vicki, of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and friends.
