Obituary for Mac Tucker

Mac Ethridge Tucker, age 88, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 in Childress. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, November 19, 2012 in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Shoffner officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM . Mac Ethridge Tucker was born October 7, 1924 to Roscoe and Letha Tucker in Paducah, TX. Mac was a graduate of Paducah High School. He married Reba on April 1, 1944 and later joined the Navy in October of the same year. He did basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois and was stationed in Norfolk, VA. Mac was assigned to USS-LSM555. Mac grew up in Dunlap Community. He helped build the current building of Calvary Baptist Church where he was a long time member and deacon. Mac was a sales rep for various companies that supplied agricultural and livestock products. After retirement from Taylor Evans, Mac got back into farming and ranching in Childress and Cottle counties. Mac was a Master Mason for over 50 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roscoe Tucker; sister, Chessie Carr; and grandsons, Jason and Joel Tucker.
