Obituary for Lorene Raines

Lorene Newman Raines, age 86, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 in Paducah. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 27, 2013 in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Porter and Talmadge Porter officiating. Burial will be in Cee Vee Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Lorene Newman Raines was born on December 22,1926 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Clemence Austin and Mary Etta Anderson Newman. Lorene was a member of Primitive Baptist Church for over 41 years. She was also a member of Austin's Old 300, Texas 1st Families and Descendants of Mexican War Veterans 1846-1848. She enjoyed teaching art throughout Texas and loved to square dance with her beloved husband. Lorene was instrumental in getting the Historical Marker placed at the Haven of Rest Cemetery as well as the Historical Marker placed at the Cee Vee Community. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Amma Lea Newman Garvin, Cora Bell Resech, Niece, Paula Marie Simpkins, Great niece, Rebecca Lynn Jones, Great Nephew, Phillip Lee Garvin, Jr., 2 Nephews, Lee Davis Crain , Jess Alton Crain, 2 Great Great Nieces, Gene Hali Boothe, Bethany Lakin Harris. She is survived by: Husband - John Paul Raines, Cee Vee, TX Son - Charles Paul Raines, North Hollywood, CA Daughter - Candace Carol Hludzinski, San Antonio, TX Grand Child - Joshua Nabors, San Antonio, TX Grand Child - Cameron Nabors and wife Veronica, San Antonio, TX Niece - Phyllis Ann Cross and Husband Billy Joe, Plainview, TX Nephew - Phillip Lee Garvin and Wife Marion, Paducah, TX Niece - Pamela Jean White and Husband Ronnie, Eastland, TX Nephew - Paul David Garvin and Wife Margaret, Mexia, TX Niece - Kathleen Kay Frederick and Husband Buster, Ft. Worth, Niece - Arleen Gay Carlton and Husband Rusty, Ft.
