Lorena Taylor, age 91, died Thursday, December 27, 2012 in Childress. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2012 in First Assembly of God with Rev. Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Lorena Taylor was born in Childress, Texas to Reuben and Annie Parasaide Morris on October 8, 1921. Lorena attended local schools and graduated in 1939. She and Buford married on April 17, 1948 in Childress. They were married 56 until his passing in 2004. Lorena was mostly a homemaker, but she worked at several places over the years. She worked for the NYA program, then for Hargraves, and also Woolworths. She was a long time member of the Assembly of God. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her homemade brownies. She loved to sing at church and she dearly loved her grandchildren. Lorena was well known and loved by the staff at Childress Healthcare. Lorena was preceded in death by her parents,and husband, Buford "Boob" Taylor.
