She passed away August 16, 2023 in Childress.

Linda was born in Childress on July 9, 1946 to J.B. and Mary Kate Holland. She lived her entire life in Childress except for a short stint at Baylor University in 1964, before returning home to marry Jimmy Shannon Barlow of Cee Vee, on June 25, 1965 and started farming and ranching. They were married for over 50 years. Jimmy preceded her in death on February 13, 2018.

Linda was an accomplished pianist and organist at First Baptist Church of Childress until a few years prior to her death wrapping up a dedicated 50 plus years of music ministry. She worked for her dad, former Mayor J.B. Holland at Holland Metal Company in the 70’s and 80’s followed by many years in the banking industry before retirement. After retirement, she and Jimmy enjoyed time in Oklahoma on the lakes fishing and camping.

She is preceded in death by her parents J.B. and Mary Kate Holland, her husband Jimmy, and her son Gary Todd Barlow. She will be so excited to be reunited with these loved ones.

Linda is survived by her daughter Shannon Barlow and Natalie Woods of Amarillo; her son Mark Barlow of Childress; Grandson Carson Barlow of Childress; her brothers John (Susan) Holland of Hurst, Texas and Joe (Dana) Holland of Breckenridge, Colorado; sisters Evelyn Holland of Amarillo and Jay Nell Perry of Brookshire, Texas, the Dietrich family of Lockney, sister in law Carolyn Barlow of Wetumka, Okla. and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church music ministry or Meals on Wheels of Childress. Many thanks to the staff of Childress Nursing Center and her hospice nurses from Amarillo. Our family has been so blessed by your services.
