Lassie Leona Spurlock Proffitt, age 101, died Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Childress. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in Childress Church of Christ with Mr. Trey Morgan and Mr. Robert Carter officiating . Burial will be in Kirkland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Leona was born on September 26, 1911 in Farmersville, Texas to JP and Martha Ellie Fletcher Spurlock. She and Adis Young Proffitt were married on May 18, 1929 in Cottle County. For thirty years, she worked at Hargraves Laundry. Grandchildren were so loved and enjoyed. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Parents, two Grandchildren, Debra Elaine Czewski Stanford, and David Thomas Czewski, one Great Great Grandchild Kloie Dewberry, four Sisters and two brothers. She is survived by: Brother - Wilmer Spurlock; Three Sons - Richard Proffitt and wife Helen, Wayne Proffitt and wife Edith, and Robert Proffitt, all of Childress; Three Daughters - Anita Harris and husband Billy, Wilson, OK. Judy Czewski and husband, Tom of Amarillo, and Barbara Harris and husband Jim, Kirkland, TX; 13 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren; 10 Great Great Grandchildren
