Obituary for Larry "Cotton" Bailey

Larry “Cotton” Glenn Bailey of Longview, Texas passed away on April, 12, 2018 at the age of 57. Services will be at 2:00pm on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Joe E. Jones Memorial Chapel in the Childress Cemetery with Ronnie Shoffner officiating and assisted by Gilbert Bailey. Burial will immediately follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home. Larry “Cotton” Glenn Bailey of Longview, Texas passed away on April, 12, 2018 at the age of 57. Cotton was born in Memphis, Texas on July 27, 1960 to Bill Larry Bailey and Naomi Pierce Bailey. In his younger years, Cotton and his sister, Mary loved to dance and would regularly clear the dance floor. He loved gardening, watching his kids swim, and watching movies . He worked in the oil field for many years in the Kilgore and Longview, Texas areas. He loved to ride horses and go fishing with his Uncle Jerry. He considered his daughter his fishing good luck charm. He will be missed by all. Cotton was preceded in death by both sets of his grandparents, Bill and Hallie Bailey and George and Kathleen Pierce; sister, Mary Cross; brother-in-law, Craig Cross; nephew, James Lee; 2 aunts; 5 uncles and his mother-in-law, Mary Burrows. He is survived by: Daughter: Crystal Thomas and husband, John of Childress, TX Parents: Larry and Naomi Bailey of Childress, TX Grandson: Sheltyn and Jaxyn of Childress, Tx.
