Lanora “Toni” Jones, age 81, passed away on March 18, 2018. Graveside services will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Childress Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Shoffner officiating. Burial is under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Toni was born on July 20, 1936 in Childress to Alvin and Frankie Stroud. She was a hard worker, and worked at both New 4 You and the Childress Food Pantry, as well as other places. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded by her parents, husband Johnny Ray Jones, son Johnny Max Jones, and a great-grandson Ashton Scott. Survivors include two daughters, Julia Wheeler and husband, Timothy, and Nellie Jones; two sons, Alvin Jones and Justin Jones; one brother, Billy Stroud; two grandchildren, Johnny Floyd Scott and Melissa Jones; three great-grandchildren, Johnny Ray Scott and wife, Breanna, Matthew Scott and Antonio Jones; two great-great-grandchildren, Anya Scott and Ashlyn Scott; and a good, longtime family friend Loretta Pruitt. Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of your choice.
