Obituary for LaJuana Mills
LaJuana R. Mills, age 91, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 in San Angelo, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, November 30, 2019 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Chad King officiating and he will be assisted by Kerry Wood. Burial will immediately follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Family visitation will be held from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home
LaJuana R. Mills was born in Childress, TX to A.W. & Mable (Keith) Smothermon on February 16, 1928. LaJuana married Nixon (Nick) C. Mills on December 24, 1947. LaJuana was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Childress. She sang in the choir and served on numerous committees. She retired from West Texas Utilities on December 1, 1992 after 23 years.
LaJuana was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nick; son, Keith: two brothers, A.W. Smothermon Jr and Don A. Smothermon; two sisters, Bennie Kidwell and LaVerne Martin.
She is survived by her grandsons, Kyle Mills and wife Kimberly of San Angelo, TX and Kris Mills of Fort Worth, TX; great grandchildren, Paxton Mills and Madelyn Mills; daughter-in-law, Pam Mills Kasberg of San Angelo, TX; sister-in-law, Lolita Smothermon of Childress, TX and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
