Obituary for Ann Thorn
Ann Thorn, age 86, passed away on January 8, 2024 in Childress, Texas.
A Memorial Service will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 27th, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Shoffner officiating.
Ann was born on November 16, 1937 to Clarence E. Kelso and Alice P. (Dill) Kelso in Oklahoma City, OK.
She married Arthur Preston Thorn on November 12, 1954 and remained so until his passing in 1988. Ann served our community as a Nurses Aide at Childress Regional Medical Center for 27 years. Ann was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and she would be the first to say, “How about them Cowboys!”. She loved to cook and she was known for her chicken and dumplings and banana pudding. She loved to have her family over to her house for card games and dinner which she called “Garden Trash Night”.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Preston Thorn,son, Ronny Lee Thorn; sister, Pauline Mills; sister, Gwen Court; sister, Thelma Wright; brother, Harland Kelso; sister, Frances Tullos; sister, Johnnie Borton; sister, Trudy Hite.

Son - Michael Thorn of Childress, TX
Sister - Barbara Thorn of Venus, TX
Sister - Linda Bates of Petrolia, TX
Brother - C.E. Kelso of Arlington, TX
Brother - Larry Kelso of Burkburnett, TX
Grandchildren - Amber Thorn, Mason Thorn and Marcy Thorn
Great Grandchildren - Ariel Garrett and Tyler Garrett
