Obituary for Koltan Jones

Koltan Alan Jones, age 25 of Childress, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 in Oklahoma. Funeral services will be at 3 PM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Childress with Rev. Chad King, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Tell Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home. Koltan was born on September 24, 1992 in Childress to Brian and Dayna (Mayden) Jones. He graduated from Madill High School in Madill, Oklahoma as a star of the football team. He received a full academic scholarship to Oklahoma University. He was known as a good hearted cowboy and an all-around great guy who never met a stranger. He could ride any horse by the time he was 5 years old. Above all else, he was a good and loyal friend to all his family and friends, and looked out for others. Koltan was preceded in death by his grandfather Jimmy Lee Mayden, great-grandparents Lanora Ryan and Nanny Mayden, and several aunts. Survivors include his dad and mom, Brian and Angela Jones of Childress; mother, Dayna Turk; daughter, Whitley Jones; grandparents, Ted Jones and significant other, Agnes Jackson of Ft. Towson, OK, and Buster and Debbie Brothers; four brothers, Kendale Davis of Belmont, OH, Jett Jones of Childress, and Chance and Cameron Judkins both of Amarillo; three sisters, Lexi Jones and Bridan Jones both of Childress, and Gracee Lee Jones of Cleburne, TX; aunts, Teddi Bryant and husband, Erick and their children, and Lacie Jones and her daughter; uncles, Tadpole Jones and wife, Grace, Travis Reedy and wife, Lindsey, Kendall Sandlin and wife, Charlotte; cousins, Ryan Sandlin, Kyrene Sandlin, and Cutter Reedy; and numerous extended family and friends.
