Obituary for Kenneth Moore

Services will be held at 1:30pm, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in First Baptist Church of Memphis, Tx with Rev. Anthony Knowles officiating and Nick Moore and Ronnie Shoffner assisting. Family visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Kenneth was born August 4, 1925 in Roby, TX to C.H. (Charlie) and Emma Stuart Moore. He was seventh of 11 siblings. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946. He married Evelene Boen on May 22, 1950 in Roby, TX. He was a farmer, rancher and cowboy. Kenneth and Evelene moved to Estelline in 1963 with their five children. He and Evelene moved to Phillips Ranch in Valmora, New Mexico in 1976 until 1985 then moved back to Estelline. They moved to Bell Ranch, New Mexico in 1989 until 1999 then back to Estelline again where they lived surrounded by children and family. He had a love for gardening and had a skill of growing anything bigger and better. He grew a state fair champion cabbage while working on the Bell Ranch. Most of all he loved to be with his children, family and friends he had met throughout his long life. He was a great storyteller and had an exceptional memory of his childhood, family and life experiences to the very end. He was a member of the Estelline Baptist Church. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Evelene in April of 2009; a grandson Shawn in November of 1979, as well as, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Estelline Baptist Church.
