He passed away November 14, 2022 in Amarillo.
Kenneth Foy Husband was born October 14, 1933 in Hall County to Walter Foy (Joe) and Clara Weeks Husband. After graduating from Turkey High School in 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was last stationed in El Paso where he met Marlys Swan. They were married on April 22, 1957 in Anapra, N.M. and lived in El Paso til the late 50s. They moved to Childress in 1959 where he ran the Fina Station and the bowling alley for several years until he started farming and ranching in the 1960s. He continued this work until his death. He loved taking care of the cattle and he could lot more cows with a cake wagon than he ever did with a horse. Marlys preceded him in death November 19, 1988.
He married Ann Smith in 1993 and they took many overseas trips the past 25 years and saw over 21 countries as well as Alaska and Hawaii. They met and made many friends on those trips, many who they remain in touch with today.
He went most mornings to have coffee in town to visit with his buddies and catch up on what was going on. Then he was off to work and was an invaluable leader in the family farm business. He was a hard worker and set a great example for his family through his dedication of being a provider and protector.
His family was his pride and joy. He was Pappy to his grandkids and great grandkids and was happiest when they came running to see him and give him hugs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and mother of his children Marlys Husband and sisters Delores Toland and Velda Hurst.
