Karla Kalawatee Odhams, 61, passed away June 16, 2017 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the First Assembly of God Church of Childress with Ronnie Shoffner officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. She was born December 1, 1955 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tabago to Peter and Mamin Diaz Jaglal. She attended Port of Spain High School and later continued her education at Clarendon College. She married Mitcheal Odhams in December of 1983 and was a homemaker. Karla was a loving mother and grandmother who believed in the power of prayer. She was a Christian woman and loved collecting and trying new recipes. She loved to read spiritual , Christian, and self improvement books as well as reading the Bible everyday. She had a special anointing, and she loved to walk and exercise, to sew, her little garden, shopping and she loved to mail goodie bags to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mamin Jaglal, a sister Mariann and honorary mother Pearl Dalton. Survivors include her husband, Mitcheal of Childress; daughter Karlicia Orrick and husband, Lyndon of Anchorage, AK.; two grandchildren, Kadon and Kalyn Orrick of Anchorage; sisters Joanne Sorrell, Stephanie Fabien and Angela Carrington of Trinidad and Tobago and Leela Arocho of Valrico, Fl; brothers Martin Jaglal, Winston Jaglal, and Kent Jaglal all of San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago; mother-in-law Lillie Smith as well as numerous extended family members.
