Obituary for Karl Larrison

Karl Owen Larrison, age 66, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019.

Visitation will be held at Rancho Costa Plenti from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

Karl was born on September 22, 1952 to Billie and Owen Larrison in Borger, Texas. He worked half of his life as an engineer on offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and off the coasts of Trinidad and Tobago and Nova Scotia, but his favorite job was in his younger days as a trail guide at a dude ranch in Colorado. Karl always had an interest in nature and loved to visit National Parks--affinities that he passed on to his children. He was fond of animals and especially loved horses. From his roping and shoeing days to raising cutting horses later in life, his best friends were the friends he made through horses. He was a member of the AQHA and the NCHA and the proud owner of several successful competitive horses.

The first thing you noticed about Karl was his sparkling blue eyes and his smile that was more of a grin, but it wouldn't take long to see that he had a huge heart. He was happiest when he was able to get all three of his children and their spouses and the grandkids together in one place and he always looked for opportunities to do so. Karl had a strong sense of duty to his family and great affection for his friends and took pains to take care of those he loved. And those who loved him knew him as witty and clever, friendly and generous. And will remember him always as such.

Karl is preceded in death by his father, Owen Larrison; his grandparents, Lacy and Gertie Boyd and Buella and Carmi Larrison.

Survivors include his mother, Billie Larrison of Childress, Texas; his sister, Becky Prewett of Childress, Texas; his daughter, Courtney Parker and her husband Jeremiah of Linköping, Sweden; his son, Chris Larrison and his wife Kristi of Apple Valley, California; his daughter, Jenny Larrison of San Diego, California; and his grandchildren, Elle, Cash, and Georgie.
